In addition to selecting a Word of the Year, a few years back I started selecting a tarot card of the year too. Thus far these pairings have included:
2020: REALIZE
2021: STEP
2022: STRIDE
2023: REACH + 7 of PENTACLES
2024: STILLNESS + 8 of PENTACLES
2025: PERSIST + KNIGHT OF PENTACLES
2026: SEEK + CHARIOT
My goal until I achieve it is to finish my book manuscript and publish it.
7 and 8 of Pentacles are about working hard, Knight is movement forward with goals, and Chariot is movement forward. So all of these words and cards have been in service to that goal.
While 2024’s “stillness” may seem out of place, this was me needing to focus on making quiet time for myself to write, rather than simply filling my schedule up with fun and time with other people. As an extrovert this is sometimes a challenge for me.
My mantra this year has been “seek and ye shall find.”
